Entry for Metroidvania Month 27!

Tight, focused, 15 minutes explore-action experience.

Thank you so much for checking out our game! We worked really hard on it. Gramary is Ryan's first project in Godot, and a lot of the one month dev time was spent learning the ins and outs of the engine. Some areas were rushed and are visually half-finished, and there are a couple of minor bugs. But the game is complete experience, and we hope you'll enjoy the meticulous pixel art, authentic SNES-hardware soundtrack, and our first foray into a new fantasy world. Look forward to an updated / expanded version of the game once the jam is finished.

I can't get through the first underground room, the one of the bubble-blow frogs. Tried sliding into the walls and found nothing, and the jump for me barely can't reach the platform the frogs are on  :(

try heading back to the left in the forest, there's another entrance to the underground

That wasn't intended, sorry about that! The player is meant to come back up through there. After you get the slide, you can go west through the forest to progress. Will fix that after the jam is over

Great little jam game! The visuals and music all come together super nicely and it feels cohesive. The areas all felt unique and interesting but I particularly liked the last area of the game.

Once I got used to the controls/abilities it felt like a nice moveset to explore with. The slide also working as an attack was a nice way to combo into a sword followup for some enemies.

Overall really cool stuff!
